Introducing Ada
A little bit of the the history of the “Ada”
Ada is the result of a dream and passion for sailing of Captain Ernesto. After a long search for the right sailboat. He was walking thorough the dry marina in Puerto Vallarta named Opequimar and found his "Destiny".
Ernesto had the vision of Destiny but she was a boat in disrepair and in need of a lot of tender loving care. Ada was originally named Destiny but after some years of a painstaking restoration process to bring Destiny to her originally beauty and Bristol condition, Captain Ernesto was also caring for his mother who was fighting cancer.
Ada is Ernesto's mother and she was one of the few people who believed in his dream. As his dream became reality and with the passing of his beloveds mother, he knew he had to change Destiny to Ada in her loving memory.
Introducing BRUNA
Dear Ada Friends, family and supporters, we introduce to you the newest member of our Ada family Bruna, who you say, no its what, a 29 foot launch that will compliment the sailboat nicely.
Bruna is built along the same style as Ada, lots of wood and fine hand crafted details, she has a bathroom and is getting equipped with 2 powerful but quiet outboard motors, these will allow us speed and distance. We create a few tours that we will start her out with, including Marietas as well as a new Whale watching experience keeping to the same high level of service and style as our sailboat trips.
If you are planning to visit Puerto Vallarta around this time or are already here we invite you to come and meet her. Thanks for your continued patronage and support.
Our Team's Voice Matters
We are delighted to welcome you to Ada Sailing. Our sailing tour company has been a success thanks to our Ada Sailing Crew. It’s made up of an amazing captain, first mate and remarkable crew members. Together, we share our dream of taking to the world’s most beautiful bay season after season.
A Beautiful Dream: Our Company's History
As a family business, we take pride in offering top-rated, first-class sailing tours in the Banderas Bay for nearly two decades.
Our private and public charter tours feature luxurious comfort and personalized service, which honors the legacy of our founding captain, Ernesto.
In 2002, Captain Ernesto came to Puerto Vallarta from Mexico City. He had a dream to establish a high quality sailing company on the Banderas Bay.
He searched tirelessly for the right vessel before finding Destiny, a 45-foot classic ketch. Captain Ernesto painstakingly restored Destiny to her original beauty and Bristol condition. He also cared for his mother in her battle against cancer.
She was one of the few who believed in his dream and with her passing, Ernesto honored her memory by changing Destiny's name to Ada, the name of his beloved mother.
Captain Ernesto dedicated more than 10 years to Ada Sailing. Together with his daughter and business partner, Andrea, they treated passengers to first-class signature service and one-of-a-kind sailing experiences. Passengers became fast friends, returning year after year to sail to secluded beaches, famous landmarks and into Vallarta's breathtaking sunset.
In 2016, Captain Ernesto was diagnosed with cancer. He fought hard but took his last breath in 2017. Devastated yet determined, our crew set out to honor his legacy under the direction of his daughter and business partner, Andrea.
Today Andrea and Ada Sailing's friendly and bilingual crew — with a combined 12 years of experience — continue the tradition of providing premiere sailing tours in the Bay. Our captain is dedicated to your safety, while our first mate and hospitality specialists ensure you have every comfort during your Ada Sailing tour.
We are here for you and look forward to welcoming you aboard!
